9 Nov. La Réole. Liberate for the mayor and commune of Bordeaux. To the treasurer and chamberlains. They are to pay 300 m. out of the king’s treasure to a certain messenger of the mayor and commune of Bordeaux bearing these letters together with the king’s letters patent bearing witness to the 300 m. that the king received from them as a loan in Gascony towards paying the wages of the king’s sailors and sergeants who were in the galleys of Bayonne. Once they have paid the aforesaid money to the same messenger, they are to receive the king’s letters patent from him. 1

The king has pardoned to Nicholas de Boleville 50 m. of the 300 m. by which he has made fine with him for having the custody and marriage of the first-born daughter of John Danish and custody of part of the lands formerly of the same John which fall to her as inheritance. The king has granted him that he is to render the remaining 250 m. to him at the below-written terms, namely 20 m. at the Exchequer of Michaelmas in the twenty-seventh year, 20 m. at the Exchequer of Easter in the twenty-eighth year, and 40 m. thus from year to year at the same terms until the aforesaid 250 m. are paid to the king. Order to the barons of the Exchequer to cause him to be quit from the aforesaid 50 m. and to have the aforesaid terms for the aforesaid remainder. By John fitz Geoffrey.

They are to allow to the king’s beloved and faithful Paulinus Peyvre in the debts which he owes to the king the 20 m. by which the men of Dunstable have made fine for the trespass that they made against the king’s beloved and faithful John of Lexington whilst the same Paulinus 1 was sheriff of Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire and that he ought to have taken together with the other issues of the same counties by reason of a fine of 200 m. which he made with the king for having the entire profit of the same counties.

The king has pardoned to Nicholas of Sandford all the interest which could have accrued to Aaron son of Abraham, Jew of London, from the 10 m. that Nicholas received from him as a loan, and similarly all the interest which could have acrued to Mosse Generus and Elias le Eveske from the 10 m. that he received from them as a loan, from the day he received the loans from them until St. John the Baptist 1 in the twenty-seventh year etc., and in the meantime the king has granted Nicholas respite from all the aforesaid debt, so that he will then satisfy the aforesaid Jews for this. Order to the justices assigned to the custody of the Jews to cause him to be quit from all the aforesaid interest that ought to have accrued to the same Jews by reason of the aforesaid debt until the aforesaid term, and to cause him to have the aforesaid respite from the same debt.

Order to the barons of the Exchequer to place in respite the demand for £16 [sic] which they make from Edmund, son of J., formerly earl of Lincoln, for the two wapentakes of Staincross and Osgoldcross which are in the king’s custody, 1 by which the men of the whole county of Yorkshire made fine communally before the justices last itinerant in the same county, for as long as the same Edmund will be under age. Order to the sheriff of Yorkshire, by letters of the Exchequer, to permit him to have peace therefrom in the meantime. 2
